Terrelle Pryor is coming off of a rough season with the Washington Redskins, but he’s shown some undeniable talent that makes him an intriguing free agent target for the Colts.
General manager Chris Ballard acknowledged that wide receiver was a position of need for the Colts during his NFL Combine press conference and that Indianapolis’ front office will work to improve their receiving corps this offseason.
Getting a big, physical receiver like Terrelle Pryor in free agency could be a good move for the Colts to compliment T.Y. Hilton’s skillset.
Pryor played quarterback in his first three NFL seasons, but he made the transition to wide receiver before the 2015 season.
He didn’t see the field much in 2015, but he enjoyed a breakout year in 2016 gaining over 1,000 yards receiving with 4 touchdowns. The most impressive part of his 2016 season was the uninspiring group of quarterbacks that was throwing him the ball in Cleveland.
He signed with Washington on a one-year deal last offseason, and he had a disappointing year with only 240 yards receiving and 1 touchdown in 11 games.
That season in Washington will depress Pryor’s value in free agency, but we’ve seen him be an extremely productive receiver in a bad situation with the Browns. If I was Chris Ballard, I’d try to bring Pryor in on a one-year deal to see if he can recapture the magic he showed in 2016.
