Colts Will Interview Steve Wilks for Head Coaching Job

The Colts will conduct another interview as they continue their search for a new head coach this offseason. Steve Wilks will reportedly interview with the Colts’ front office on Thursday.

Here is a list of head coaching candidates that general manager Chris Ballard and the rest of the Colts’ front office have already interviewed:

The Colts will add Steve Wilks’ name to that list on Thursday.

The Panthers’ defensive coordinator brought his aggressive style of defense to Carolina this season after taking over for Sean McDermott. He continued the legacy of tough defenses in Carolina, which has created some buzz about him possibly getting a head coaching job this offseason.

Wilks is one of the favorites to be the Giants’ next head coach as his former general manager Dave Gettleman is currently running New York’s front office. He also interviewed for the Cardinals’ vacant head coaching position on Wednesday ahead of his meeting with Indianapolis’ front office.

Josh McDaniels is probably the top target for Chris Ballard in his first head coaching search as a general manager, but Steve Wilks is definitely capable of wooing him with a strong interview on Thursday.

Kansas City’s special teams coach Dave Toub is also in the mix, but there hasn’t been a report confirming that he will interview for the job.
