What to Watch For: Preseason Week 4
By Andrew Ites
The Colts are heading into their final preseason game of the year, but they still have plenty of things to work on before Week 1 of the regular season.
Indianapolis got their first win of the 2017 preseason last week with an impressive performance in Pittsburgh. They’ll be looking to build some momentum heading into the regular season with another solid game against the Bengals on Thursday night.
Quarterback
It sounds like Chuck Pagano has left the quarterback competition open, and Stephen Morris played well with the first-team offense against the Steelers.
Tolzien is the favorite to be the Week 1 starter if Luck is on the bench, but Morris still has an opportunity to take the job with another strong showing against the Bengals.
Next: Vontae Davis Suffers “Significant” Injury
Cornerback
With Vontae Davis‘ injury, the Colts will be looking for a new number one cornerback for the first few weeks of the regular season.
The Colts would like to see more of their two rookies Quincy Wilson and Nate Hairston, and their two new veterans Chris Culliver and Corey White.
Marlon Mack
The starting offense probably won’t get a ton of playing time on Thursday night, but Marlon Mack could see a lot of touches as a featured running back.

Mack has been the most exciting player of the Colts’ preseason thus far, and he’s looking to show the coaching staff that he deserves some first-team action in the regular season.
Third Wide Receiver
This will be the final time for Phillip Dorsett, Kamar Aiken, and Chester Rogers to show that they should make the roster as the Colts’ third wide receiver.
Rogers has been battling a hamstring injury, and Phillip Dorsett had a great game last week, which makes this one of the most important position battles heading into the final preseason game.
