Draft experts continue to predict that the Indianapolis Colts will trade up to No. 1 and select quarterback Bryce Young in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard is going to be quite busy leading up to the NFL Draft, as a blockbuster move surely could be on the way. It's no secret that the Colts are in desperate need of a franchise signal-caller, as the days of Matt Ryan are no more.

Holding the No. 4 overall pick, the Colts are in great shape to take a QB early on. However, could Ballard make a deal to move up three spots to No. 1 overall? In his new NFL Mock Draft, CBS' Josh Edwards has Indy taking Alabama stud Bryce Young with the opening pick.

Colts landing Alabama signal-caller Bryce Young would be massive for the organization

"CBSSports' R.J. White updated his trade value chart recently and came up with the following scenario in a trade up: No. 4 overall, No. 36 overall, No. 80 overall, a 2024 first-round pick and a 2024 second-round pick going to Chicago in exchange for the No. 1 overall selection. With that choice, the Colts select Alabama quarterback Bryce Young."

Could you imagine if this were to happen? The Chicago Bears hold that No. 1 pick, but they've already got Justin Fields running the offense for them. The expectation is that Chicago will be taking calls from teams who are hungry to take their spot in the draft. If the right offer is put on the table, then the Bears very well could decide to move down in the first round.

For the Colts, bringing in someone like Young would be a no-brainer. The Heisman winner is a proven standout and he's got all of the necessary tools to be a talented QB in today's NFL: Young has a cannon for an arm and he's able to take off and run for big gains when needed.

The Houston Texans, a squad also looking for a QB, hold the No. 2 overall pick. If Chicago stays at No. 1 and goes with Jalen Carter or Will Anderson, then Houston would surely not waste a second in taking Young. That would leave the door open for the Colts to grab Stroud at No. 4, if he's still available that is. Ballard could ruin Houston's night by taking Young No. 1 overall, though. This will obviously be something to watch both leading up to and during draft night.
