The Indianapolis Colts have let several free agents go, but they've just resigned one - and one of the only reliable members of their tight end room. After Kylen Granson left Indianapolis for the Philadelphia Eagles, there were many questions as to what the fate of Mo Alie-Cox would be.
Earlier this year, Alie-Cox made some comments insinuating that he was looking to leave the Colts. When asked what his goal for 2025 was, his answer was "winning," which many saw as a dig at the Colts.
"I would say just... [pause] ... winning," he said. "I mean, we've won here, but so I just -- we're like... and we've kind of been in the same position for a while. So I would just say just taking the next step forward and different things like that. I mean, not saying that we can't do that here, but like... I'm 31 now. I'm older. So just being an older veteran, things like that, just different things like that."
However, whatever dig might have been intended must not be an issue anymore. Alie-Cox has re-signed with the Colts for another year, making him one of the longest tenured players on the team.

Alie-Cox signed with the Indianapolis Colts in 2017, and has spent his entire career in the NFL with them. He has been a reliable tight end, particularly when it comes to blocking, but this is an area on the roster that is a desperate need for the Colts - with or without him.
The Indianapolis tight end room is notoriously bad, with no tight end having racked up over 500 receiving yards since 2018. Alie-Cox had 12 catches for 147 yards and one touchdown last season, behind Granson, but he has been placed primarily in a blocking role after Jack Doyle retired in 2021.
Yet Alie-Cox will surely provide experience and leadership to what will likely be a very young unit if - as expected - the Colts end up taking a tight end in the draft.
