The Colts need to add some talent to their receiving corps this offseason, and they’re meeting with Dontrelle Inman in an attempt fill that need.
With Donte Moncrief heading to Jacksonville in free agency, the Colts’ depth chart at wide receiver is looking pretty thin.
General manager Chris Ballard signed Ryan Grant to a one-year deal and the Colts have met with restricted free agent wide receiver Cameron Meredith, but it looks like they’re not done taking a look at free agent wide receivers.
I wrote up a comprehensive profile of Dontrelle Inman earlier this offseason as I thought he would be a good fit on the opposite side of T.Y. Hilton in the Colts’ offense.
One factor that makes Inman an intriguing player for the Colts is his familiarity with the new coaching staff in Indianapolis.

Frank Reich was the Chargers’ offensive coordinator for Inman‘s first two years with the Chargers. New Colts offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni also worked with Inman as the wide receivers coach with the Chargers in 2016-17 and the quarterbacks coach in San Diego in 2014-15.
Reich and Sirianni have convinced Chris Ballard to at least take a look at the former Charger as he met with the Colts today. Inman also met with the Cowboys this week as they’re looking to add a wide receiver as well.
Inman’s size makes him a potential red zone threat and he has the speed to gain big yardage on crossing routes and deep balls. He’d be a great addition to this receiving corps and I hope he leaves Indianapolis with a new contract.
