The Cardinals and Colts come into their Week 2 matchup 0-1 and missing their best players making this one of the most desperate games on the NFL schedule.
It was reported this week that Cardinals running back David Johnson could be out until December with a wrist injury. Colts fans feel their pain as their MVP, Andrew Luck, will also be on the sidelines on Sunday.
Head coach Chuck Pagano still hasn’t named a starting quarterback for this week’s game, but the Colts’ fanbase may grab their pitchforks if they have to watch Scott Tolzien for the second week in a row.
Carson Palmer didn’t look much better than Scott Tolzien in Week 1. Palmer threw 3 interceptions in their season-opening loss in Detroit, and it may have signaled the end of the line for the 37-year-old quarterback.

Luckily for the Cardinals, they get to take on a defense that allowed Jared Goff to throw for his first 300-yard game as a pro. The Colts will still be without their best defensive player on Sunday as cornerback Vontae Davis continues to battle a groin injury.
It may be hyperbole to say that this is a must-win game in the second week of the NFL season, but it’s unlikely that either of these teams would be able to make a run at the playoffs after an 0-2 start. While this game won’t get much national attention, Colts and Cardinals fans will be on the edge of their seats in this crucial matchup.
