NT Montori Hughes

Listed as the team’s primary backup at nose tackle, Montori Hughes has the size to simply be a “monster in the middle” for the Colts. The 3rd-year pro is listed at 6’4″, 350 pounds, and is coming off a season in which he proved to be a competent rotational defensive lineman for the Colts by appearing in 12 games.

The good news for Hughes is that the numbers show he was passable last season. Per ProFootballFocus (PFF), he received a -0.1  grade overall in limited action, which is essentially neutral. The bad news is that he hasn’t been very productive so far in this year’s preseason through 3 games, as PFF has given him a -3.7 grade overall.

The Colts are clearly expecting bigger things from their 2013 5th round pick.
