DT Zach Kerr
Actually listed as Jones’ primary backup at DT on the Colts official depth chart, Zach Kerr clearly has the physical ability to competently fill-in for the team. At a listed 6’2″, 334 pounds, Kerr has more than enough size to provide an interior presence for the team’s defensive line in Jones’ absence.
Last season as a rookie, Kerr showed flashes of his immense potential by finishing the season with 3 sacks, but he simply has to put it all together on a consistent basis.
It’s only preseason, but through 3 games, Kerr has so far played pretty well. According to ProFootballFocus (subscription), Kerr’s has registered a +1.2 grade overall, including a +1.7 grade against the run.
Simply put, he could become a breakout player for the Colts defense.
