Who's to blame for the losses the Indianapolis Colts had so far? Taylor Swift.

Call it the Swift Effect.

Taylor Swift doesn't seem to have much to do with the Indianapolis Colts; the megastar is dating Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, and aside from an upcoming Eras Tour stop in Indy, there doesn't seem to be any real connection. But according to a pair of teachers, there is.

The Colts currently have a winning record, at 4-3, but it's been a struggle in 2024, to say the least. From consistency issues with quarterback Anthony Richardson and countless injuries, it's been rough. But the problem may not actually be the Colts; it could be... Taylor Swift herself?

Swift will be playing at Lucas Oil Stadium soon, and a pair of teachers who have routinely integrated the Colts into their lesson plans have decided to include Swift in the fun, too. According to WTHR, both Erin Bangel, a third-grade teacher at Clarks Creek Elementary in Plainfield, and Stefanie Husenjovic, who teaches kindergarten in Decatur Township, post the Colts schedule on their classroom doors and mark if the team won or lost each week. The students get involved, using the graph to predict if the Colts will win or not.

This year, they added a graph to see if Swift attended the Chiefs game that week to cheer on Kelce, and their students noticed something: if Swift showed up, the Colts lost. If she skipped it, the Colts won. "We always hope for the Colts to win, but we have figured out we cannot have a Taylor sighting and a Colts win in the same week!" Bangel told WTHR.

The theory will be put to the test this weekend - Swift will be playing in New Orleans, while the Chiefs are in Las Vegas, and the Colts are in Houston. If the Colts win again, then maybe the Swift Effect truly is to blame!
