The Indianapolis Colts landed a star tight end when they managed to nab Tyler Warren in this year's draft. Warren was seen as an immediate starter who could elevate the struggling tight end room starting on day one.
Warren not only met every expectation for the season, but so far, has been exceeding them. While Jonathan Taylor is the undisputed star of this Colts offense, Warren is a close runner-up. He can do everything Shane Steichen asks of him, and then some.
As it is, there has already been buzz that Warren is the frontrunner for Offensive Rookie of the Year (OROY). Even as a rookie, he's one of the best tight ends in the league, according to Pro Football Focus (subscription required), and his Week 10 performance showed why.
Tyler Warren continues to deliver as one of the Indianapolis Colts’ most reliable playmakers
The Colts traded away the underperforming Adonai Mitchell to the New York Jets last week, and Warren wasted no time making up for Mitchell's absence. Even though they don't play the same position, Warren will have fans asking, "Adonai who?" after Week 10.
Warren led the team in receiving yards this week, above explosive playmakers Ashton Dulin, Josh Downs, and Alec Pierce. He ended the day with eight receptions for 99 yards, including one especially awe-inspiring catch during overtime, which set the Colts up for the win.

The Colts have a BYE after this week, but halfway through the season, Warren is proving that he's a tight end fans can count on, no matter what. Blocking, catching, running deep routes or short crosses, he's proved that he can do it all.
Tight ends typically don't put up numbers as flashy as wide receivers do, because after all, part of their job is to block, too. But that doesn't apply to Warren. He's keeping pace with some of the NFL's most electric wide receivers, all while also contributing to Jonathan Taylor's insane monster season by helping open up routes to run.
Heading into Week 10, he had 42 catches — making him fourth among all tight ends in the league — and now, he'll be up to 50. He ranks second among tight ends for receiving yards, further proving just how good Warren already is, even as a rookie. It's fair to say that Warren is likely a major reason why this Colts offense has been able to improve so much from 2024.
Each week, Warren is just getting better and better, and there is seemingly no limit to how Shane Steichen can use him.
