Tyler Warren is everything the Indianapolis Colts hoped he would be when the team chose him with the 14th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Indy had not had a playmaker at tight end in some time, and Warren is quickly changing that.
In his first game, he set a rookie record for passes caught in a first game for a player at his position with seven. He hasn't yet scored a touchdown, but those times will come. Colts head coach Shane Steichen is learning how to use him in the flow of drives and will learn how to use him in the red zone.
In the days ahead of Indianapolis's Week 3 showdown against AFC South rivals, the Tennessee Titans, Warren missed some practice with a toe injury. He missed Wednesday completely and was limited on Thursday and Friday. He was officially listed as questionable for the game.
Indianapolis Colts' Tyler Warren will play in Week 3 even with a toe injury
Well things changed ahead of kickoff, so fantasy football should feel pretty happy that Tyler Warren is going to play versus Tennessee. He might see a bit fewer reps during the game, especially if Indy jumps out to a solid lead against a bad Titans team, so that might limit his overall value.
Or, perhaps, this is the first game where the rookie tight end will score a touchdown or two, lifting his value even more, though he might only catch three or four passes.
Toe injuries can get worse, of course, and Warren is not a player the Indianapolis Colts can afford to lose for any stretch of time. The team is going to be cautious with the rookie and should be able to defeat Tennessee even had Warren not played.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, though, Indianapolis has removed the questionable designation for the tight end, so he will be full go.
Colts removed the questionable tag from TE Tyler Warren, who is now good to go for Sunday’s game against Tennessee.

Colts CB Charvarius Ward Sr. has cleared concussion protocol, and he also will play vs. the Titans.
Keeping him fresh for the next month of the season will be important. If there is any sign of the tight end struggling to move as well as he normally does, the team isn't going to push him.
This is especially the case because after the Titans, Indianapolis has a much tougher schedule. The Rams follow in Los Angeles in Week 4, and then back to Indy to face the Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals, before traveling to face the Los Angeles Chargers.
