The Indianapolis Colts are 2-0 to begin the 2025 season, but Indy fans knew that. Celebrations should have been abundant after Week 1 alone. The team won their opener for the first time since what feels like 1745. Things might only get better, too.
The Miami Dolphins weren't good in Week 1, but the Denver Broncos are a good team, and the Colts still got the win in Week 2. Week 3 will see Indy take its first road trip of the season, but it gets to play the Tennessee Titans. Nashville's team isn't good.
They might be one day, as rookie quarterback Cam Ward is decent when he has time to throw, but he doesn't have much time. He has been sacked 11 times already through two games. Indianapolis's pass rush has been iffy, but that might get better in Week 3, especially after the latest Charvarius Ward news.
Indianapolis Colts give fans a fright with Tyler Warren update
Two players who didn't practice on Wednesday are fantastic rookie tight end Tyler Warren and slot receiver Josh Downs. Warren was listed with a toe issue. He might have simply been rested, but that is something to keep an eye on. If he misses Thursday, there might be a real issue.
As far as Charvarius Ward, he missed Week 2 after suffering from concussion symptoms from Week 1. He did practice on Wednesday and still has a few hurdles to clear to be able to play in Week 3, but his availability is likely. No, he isn't going to pressure Cam Ward, but he should provide shutdown coverage.
This means fewer options when Cam Ward drops back, causing him to hold on to the ball longer and allowing the Indy pass rush more time to catch up to him. One question is whether edge rusher Laiatu Latu will play. He has a hamstring issue, missed Week 2, but he did practice on Wednesday in a limited fashion.
His status for the Titans game is still unknown, though. Indianapolis doesn't have tons of quality depth at edge rusher, but it should be good enough with Kwity Paye and Samson Ebukam, along with elite interior pressure, to get pressure against Tennessee, if Latu misses his second straight game or is limited in any way.
