Daniel Jones was excellent in his Indianapolis Colts debut when Indy destroyed the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. Maybe it was the team playing at home, the emotional lift from honoring late owner Jim Irsay, or the Dolphins just being bad, but Indianapolis was potent and productive.
Week 2 is going to be a much tougher matchup for both Jones and Indianapolis. Not that the Denver Broncos are the next coming of the 2007 Colts because they aren't, but they are well-coached and have a very good defense. Denver's secondary is leagues better than Miami's.
Plus, the Denver Broncos are more fundamentally sound than the Dolphins. So, while that's scary, one prediction has Jones being good for the second week in a row.
Week 2 prediction has Indianapolis Colts' Daniel Jones doing good things again
NFL Spin Zone's Ryan Heckman projects as much anyway, so in Ryan we trust for at least one week. There is a slight catch to his guess, though.
Heckman writes, "I am going to predict Jones goes for over 250 yards passing and scores twice in this one. Is it as big of a game as he had in Week 1? No, but against an elite Denver defense, Jones gives the Colts a great chance to win."
Two touchdowns might be enough to beat the Broncos, as Indianapolis has a good defense, too. Indy might need a couple of field goals as well. But Heckman thinks Jones' success won't be enough. He still has Denver winning the game, sadly.

To be fair, Week 2 is the real test for how good the Indianapolis Colts and Daniel Jones can be. Week 1 was set up as a Waterloo for the Dolphins. They had a banged-up secondary, and an unhealthy culture. In hindsight, Indianapolis should have won the game like they did.
If Jones can succeed at a high level against a much better Denver Broncos team, look out. After Denver, the Colts face the Tennessee Titans and that should be a victory as well. A 2-1 start is needed as the overall schedule is not easy.
Indianapolis should stay in the AFC South race the entire season, though. The overall roster is good, and the team just needs decent quarterback play to be successful. If Daniel Jones (Indiana Jones or Danny Dimes; whatever you want to call him) continues to be good, the Colts are going to win the division.
