Former Colts quarterback Carson Wentz is back in headlines for all the wrong reasons
Veteran quarterback Carson Wentz is currently a free agent. After spending time with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Indianapolis Colts, and the Washington Commanders, Wentz is continuing to workout as he awaits his next opportunity. Recently, Wentz took to social media to share some of his training.
Wentz posted a picture of him training in Colts shorts, a commanders practice jersey, and an Eagles helmet. He captioned the photo, “Back in the lab… just looks a little different so far this year,” with an alternate uniforms hashtag. Wentz likely arranged this practice outfit with comedic intent, but he probably had no idea how any jokes NFL fans would make.
NFL fans make Carson Wentz the joke of the day
The jokes were plentiful and hilarious. Whether it was being told he was dressed like a parlay, that he looked like a build the worst quarterback graphic, or that he was wearing his entire resume to find a job, the internet had a ton of jokes for Carson Wentz. Hopefully he has a sense of humor.
He’s coming off a season with the Commanders where he started just seven games, playing in eight. He did open the season as the starter, but lost his spot after a hand injury. He finished the season completing 62.3% of his passes for 1,755 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions, and the team was 2-5 in his starts.
Wentz is making it clear that he’s staying ready for whatever opportunity that presents itself. It was reported earlier in the offseason that he had received interest from teams but that he was planning to wait and see what’s the best option. Wentz understands that his reputation as a quarterback has taken a hit, and that’s why he’s open to any kind of role. It’ll be interesting to see if Wentz will be adding another team to his alternate uniform anytime soon.
