The Indianapolis Colts recently attended a private workout for Will Levis and the team sent a lot of staff members. Could that be a sign of Indy’s interest?
If you're an Indianapolis Colts fan who wants the team to take Anthony Richardson with the No. 4 overall pick, then you're surely feeling a bit nervous right now. This week, the Colts have been scouting countless prospects, including potential franchise QB Will Levis.
While Levis has dropped in plenty of NFL Mock Drafts, that doesn't mean that general manager Chris Ballard and Co. are no longer high on the Kentucky signal-caller. Levis held a private workout for the Colts this week, and Ballard wasn't the only one on hand to see the youngster in action. Nope, there was quite the group on hand.
Kentucky QB Will Levis remains in play for the Colts at No. 4 overall
Ballard was joined by Shane Steichen, Jim Bob Cooter, Cam Turner and others. Do you really think the Colts would send such a large group to check in on Levis if the organization didn't have high interest in having him run the offense down the road? Not a chance.
Levis certainly has the tools to be a solid quarterback in the league, but plenty of folks think the Colts would be reaching for him at No. 4 overall. From our chair, Richardson should still be on the board when Indy is on the clock, as Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud and Will Anderson Jr. figure to be the Top 3 picks in this month's first round.
That would leave Richardson or Levis available for Ballard. The Colts may have signed Gardner Minshew this offseason, but the former Washington State QB is not the answer for this team long term. Richardson or Levis most definitely would be.
It feels like it would be tough for the Colts to pass on Richardson if he's still there for the taking, but at this point, it also doesn't feel like it'd be a huge stunner if Ballard decides to rock with Levis.
