Following the 2023 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts signed over 10 undrafted free agents, including a talented player who’s from Indy.

Over the weekend, the Indianapolis Colts put together another strong draft class, highlighted by No. 4 pick Anthony Richardson. The hope is that Indy finally found its quarterback with Richardson, and that the 11 other draftees also pan out and become contributing players for the Colts as the team rebuilds back toward contender status.

However, the addition of new players doesn’t end with the NFL Draft. Soon as Mr. Irrelevant is selected, all 32 teams work to sign undrafted free agents, the prospects that didn’t drafted. Per usual, Indianapolis was active on the undrafted free agency market, and even landed a player that many thought would be drafted.

That player is Alabama guard Emil Ekiyor. During the draft, many people were surprised to see Indianapolis consistently pass over Ekiyor. The Colts needed a guard, and they didn’t draft one at all, so it was confusing. However, it seemed like Indy already had a plan in place with Ekiyor, who is from Indianapolis. As soon as the draft ended, it was reported that Ekiyor would be returning home to play with the Colts.
