Bleacher Report recently listed the ideal first round pick for every teamin the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, and top cornerback Quinyon Mitchell was listed as the dream selection for Indianapolis.

Indianapolis possesses the 15th overall pick in the draft, and there's been a lot of buzz about them potentially upgrading the secondary with a player like Mitchell. Here's why B/R thinks it would be a match made in heaven:

"Quinyon Mitchell is the top-ranked corner with B/R, and the Indianapolis Colts enter the draft with a major need for talent in the secondary. . . . Kenny Moore II is back to play the nickel spot and the team likes JuJu Brents, but the 2023 second-rounder needs a running mate.

". . . This isn't the 2023 class of corners where first-round talent was in abundance, and grabbing Mitchell if he's available would be a wise decision for Colts GM Chris Ballard. . . . The Kansas State product has the coverage skills, instincts and elite athleticism to make an impact early in his NFL career."

Could the Colts move up in the draft?

While the Colts have the No. 15 pick, the possibility remains that they could look to move up in the draft if the opportunity presents itself.

"History, I just go off history. And you know, the more picks you have, the better chance you have to hit," Colts general manager Chris Ballard said of potentially moving up in the draft. "Now, of course, you're not going to hit on all of them, but it gives you more of a chance to hit. Look, we've moved up, we moved up for Jonathan Taylor. When we see one that's in striking distance that we think we can go get, we'll do it. But it's got to work out. And then you've got to have too, you've got to have somebody that wants to make the trade."

In other words, keep an eye on the Colts heading into the draft, as they're a team that could clearly be looking to make some moves.
