Here we are less than a week away from the NFL Draft and Indianapolis Colts fans are sitting on pins and needles to see what general manager Chris Ballard does. With the Colts holding the No. 4 overall pick, they've been linked to several different playmakers.
Heck, we could even see Indy trade up to land either Bryce Young or C.J. Stroud. However, there's also a chance they stay at No. 4 and bring in a quarterback that not a lot of Colts supporters are too fired up about. We're talking about Kentucky signal-caller Will Levis.
According to NFL insider Peter Schrager, he continues to hear that Levis to the Colts on Thursday night could end up going down. Please, no.
The Colts selecting Will Levis No. 4 overall would be a huge mistake
These are just whispers that Schrager is hearing, but we don't like it one bit. Imagine if both Anthony Richardson and Levis are still on the board, but Ballard ends up going with Levis. This would probably prevent a lot of people from sleeping next Thursday.
Levis has a ton of potential, but there's simply no reason he should go as high as No. 4 overall. The same can't be said for Richardson, who has seen his NFL Draft stock explode ever since his sensational showing at the Combine. Not only that, but Richardson was eletric at his Pro Day as well.
The Colts are in desperate need of a QB1 for the future and Ballard knows there's a ton of pressure on him to make the right call in the first round. Plain and simple, Levis would be a mistake if his name is sent in when the Colts are on the clock. There's no way Ballard can pass on Richardson for Levis. Let's hope Schrager turns out to be way off with what he's been hearing.
