Colts fans are loving this interaction between Anthony Richardson and Alec Pierce
The Indianapolis Colts recently shared an interaction between quarterback Anthony Richardson and wide receiver Alec Pierce, and fans are loving it.
Fans love content from their favorite teams, and on Thursday, there was a ton of content shared by NFL teams for the schedule release. The Indianapolis Colts shared a fun 10-minute video where defensive tackles DeForest Buckner and Grover Stewart ate their way through the team’s schedule. For the fans that stuck around until the end of the video, there was a nice surprise.
After finishing up 17 different dishes, DeForest Buckner said, “I’d hate to be the one to clean all these dishes.” Then, the camera panned to wide receiver Alec Pierce washing dishes. However, Pierce was then instructed that his shift was up because a new guy was finally here. Alec Pierce took off his apron and tossed it to none other than Anthony Richardson.
Alec Pierce hands over rookie duties to Anthony Richardson in Colts schedule release video
Pierce, of course, was Indy’s first selection of the 2022 Draft, and Anthony Richardson was the first selection for the Colts in the 2023 Draft. So now, Pierce is no longer the team’s rookie, he can finally hand off his duties to Richardson and the entire 2023 Draft class. One of the common reactions to the video was how much people loved the cameo from the two.
This is just the beginning of the interaction between the two, but moving forward, Richardson will be passing to Pierce. After a rookie season that saw Alec Pierce catch 41 passes for 593 yards and two touchdowns, and several highlight catches, Pierce is poised for a huge second season.
With Richardson now at quarterback, the Colts have the potential for a much more explosive offense. For starters, Richardson has the huge arm to give jump-ball receivers like Alec Pierce a chance downfield. Additionally, with the threat of Richardson’s running ability, the wide receivers should see much more favorable coverages. Pierce and Richardson should be able to build a great rapport as they help turn Indy’s offense around.
