On Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts will host the Cleveland Browns at Lucas Oil Stadium. With Indy hoping to avoid back-to-back losses, and trying to find a new offensive identity with Anthony Richardson sidelined, this will be a big Week 7 matchup. While the goal remains the same, winning, things will look different on the field for Indianapolis.
The Colts will be debuting a new alternate uniform. During the offseason season, Indianapolis announced its new “Indiana Nights” uniform, and scheduled the Week 7 game with the Browns as the debut date. When the uniform was initially announced, it drew mixed reviews, but fans are excited nonetheless.
What uniform are the Colts wearing?
The Indiana Nights uniform has a black helmet, the first in franchise history, with a heathered blue jersey and pants. The helmet has blue horseshoes with a white trim on the side, and a heathered blue stripe down the middle of the helmet. For the Jersey, the numbers and letters are white, but are outlined in a black stitching. This is the first time this uniform will be worn, but likely not the last.
Will the Colts wear these alternate uniforms again?
Indianapolis hasn’t announced any plans to wear the Indiana Nights jersey again this season, but the franchise did say it will be added to the rotation and worn in future seasons. So whether it’s this season or not, fans should expect to see this uniform again in the future.
Do the Colts have any other alternate uniforms?
The only other alternate uniform that Indianapolis currently has in rotation is a throwback uniform. Indy has worn a 1956 throwback uniform over the last two seasons, and the team plans on wearing them this season in Week 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. So that will be at least to games this season where the Colts are wearing some sort of an alternate uniform.
While it will be fun, and great that the Colts look cool, it would be a shame if Indianapolis pulled out a fire alternate uniform and lost. So, Indy needs to take care of business on Sunday.
