During the 2023 NFL season, the Indianapolis Colts traveled to Frankfurt, Germany to take on the New England Patriots. Indy won the ugly game 10-6, and the matchup was one of five international games that the league played in the 2023 season. The NFL split the games up between London and Frankfurt.

Designed to grow the game and reach international fans, this is an initiative by the league that has been going on for years and it will continue in 2024. There’s also a chance that the Colts could be playing in an intentional game for the second consecutive season. The league recently announced the host teams for four international games, in two different locations, next season, but the opponents weren’t announced yet.

The Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and Jacksonville Jaguars will all host a game in London and the Carolina Panthers will host a game in Munich. Since the Colts already know their opponents, we know that they’ll play the Jaguars on the road as part of the normal AFC South schedule, and Indy will also play the Minnesota Vikings on the road. One of those games could end up in London.

Colts could play Jaguars or Vikings in London in 2024

If Indianapolis does end up playing a game in London, it will be the franchise’s third international game ever. The Colts first traveled overseas back in 2016, when they lost a close game to the Jacksonville Jaguars 30-27. It wasn’t until the Patriots game last season when Indy appeared in another international game.

So currently, Indianapolis is 1-1 in games that aren’t on U.S. soil. The team could have the opportunity to improve that .500 record next season, but we’ll have to wait until the official announcement of opponents in the international games.
