Anthony Richardson trolls Eagles with 'Fly Eagles Fly' celebration after touchdown
Fans have loved Anthony Richardson from the moment the Indianapolis Colts drafted him with the fourth-overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. His combination of size, athleticism and a huge arm give him a ceiling that many believe can turn the franchise around. For that reason, Colts fans have been excited about the future.
On Thursday night, In the first quarter of Indy’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, that excitement and love for Richardson grew even more, thanks to a little showmanship. After a six-play, 52-yard touchdown drive by the Colts, Richardson looked directly into the raucous Philly crowd and trolled them by doing the Fly Eagles Fly celebration.
Richardson is already a fan favorite, but this took things to another level. Everyone expects him to shine on the field, but it’s great knowing that he’ll entertain after the play as well with some petty trolls. Additionally, this comes after Indy and Philly had a joint practice that involved a couple of scuffles, so tensions were a little high between the teams. This could’ve been Richardson’s way of getting the last laugh.
Anthony Richardson trolls Eagles fans
Who cares that it was in a preseason game against Philadelphia’s backups? The Eagles fans certainly didn’t like it, but again, who cares? Philly is a passionate fan base, so they certainly won’t forget, but that just means Richardson needs to bring it all the time.
He’s been doing just that in the preseason game. Richardson has command of the offense and has been clean with his reads and accurate with his throws. Additionally, his athleticism has been on display as he’s been scrambling around and gaining yards on designed-quarterback runs.
It’s still early, and just a preseason game, but the future is bright in Indianapolis with Anthony Richardson, and it should be entertaining.
