The Anthony Richardson era is here for the Indianapolis Colts. Starting his first game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, it didn’t take long for Richardson to get in the end zone and get the crowd going. On Indy’s third offensive drive, Richardson led the Colts on an 11-play, 75-yard touchdown drive.
The drive had everything from Richardson: great passes and electric runs. He capped it off with a two-yard quarterback draw, and the fans in Lucas Oil Stadium exploded as Richardson celebrated with a 360 jump spike. However, no celebration was better than Richardson’s family.
The camera panned to Richardson’s family up in a suite, and they were absolutely rocking out. Richardson has often spoke about how close he is with his family, and this was evident in their celebration for his first NFL touchdown.
Anthony Richardson scores first NFL touchdown for Colts
It’s still early, but Richardson has been giving his family and Colts fans reason to be excited. Through his first four drives, Richardson has completed six-of-seven passes for 56 yards and have added 21 yards on the ground on five carries and the one touchdown, as Indy is tied with the Jaguars 7-7. Each series, head coach Shane Steichen opens up the playbook even more and Richardson is handling it all well in his debut.
While it hasn’t even been a full half, the Colts look competitive against the defending AFC South champions. Hopefully, Richardson can continue to shine, make more plays, and lead Indianapolis to a Week 1 win, giving his family even more reason go celebrate.
