Jonathan Taylor’s future with the Indianapolis Colts is currently uncertain. If Taylor is traded, here’s a look at hypothetical packages from possible teams.

2. Tennessee Titans

Titans receive: RB Jonathan Taylor
Colts receive: WR Treylon Burks, 2024 2nd (Own), 2025 4th (Own)

On the surface, this seems odd because the Titans already have an all-purpose back in Derrick Henry. But let’s dive a little deeper into this. The Titans fired their GM last season and will most likely have a new QB under center with either Malik Willis or Will Levis. Henry is 29 years old and in the final year of his 4yr/$50-million-dollar contract. Tennessee would obviously need to get away from Henry either at the deadline or let him walk in 2024. To acquire an all-purpose back at the age of 24 vs. giving Henry a third contract at 30, would be enticing to any franchise. As for Indianapolis, they get some depth and insurance with Treylon Burks and some small draft capital for the next couple of years to continue to re-build this roster.

1. Green Bay Packers

Packers receive: RB Jonathan Taylor
Colts receive: WR Christian Watson, 2024 3rd (Own), 2024 6th (Own), 2025 4th (Own)

In a past article, I discussed what a couple of trades might look like for Taylor. Let’s update this now as some things have changed for Green Bay, and I still think they have interest in Taylor going forward. The rumors were Ballard asked for Christian Watson and some draft capital. The biggest change since that rumor was mentioned is that Aaron Jones is dealing with a hamstring injury.

While it sounds normal, we all know that hamstring injuries can linger and sometimes get worse. They have a very capable backup in AJ Dillon but with Jones nearing the end of his contract after the 2024 season, this might be a good opportunity to re-enforce the running game and maybe find a landing spot for either Dillon’s or Jones’ future.
