Kenny Moore, Zaire Franklin hint at worse-case scenario for Shane Steichen

They held NOTHING back.

Some members of the Indianapolis Colts are not shy about sharing their feelings about the current season. The Colts not only have lost their last three games in a row, including with Joe Flacco at quarterback - the person head coach Shane Steichen benched Anthony Richardson for, because Flacco supposedly gave the Colts the best chance at winning games the rest of the season - but they've had back-to-back embarrassing losses, with Flacco playing so badly that fans have been begging for Steichen to put Richardson back in as starter.

Steichen remains inexplicably committed to keeping Flacco as QB1, even though the decision to bench Richardson was harshly criticized by NFL experts and fans alike, and led to rumors that Steichen had lost the locker room.

Unfortunately, after their second humiliating loss in a row - this time to the Buffalo Bills - the whispers that Steichen has lost the locker room have become deafening, particularly after post-game comments by multiple members of the team, including several team captains.

In the locker room, Kenny Moore II spoke to reporters and held absolutely nothing back.

“I don’t think everybody is working as hard as possible, and obviously, it’s showing,” he said. “I’m not the type to sugarcoat it; honestly, I don’t think the urgency is there. I don’t think the details are there. I don’t think the effort is there, and I don’t see everything correlating from the meetings to practice to the games, and it shows.”

But he was just getting started.

"You got to define yourself. You got to define the identity of the team. We got to look ourselves in the mirror and ask ourselves how bad we want it. And honestly, just turn in the page whenever we look at the corrections and everything tomorrow. And I think the thing that's, you know, back to your question, the thing that's frustrating is you're letting things leak into another week," he continued.

"Whatever it was last week, you're as great as your last performance. But once we step out on the field again, you've got the opportunity to change that narrative. But to go out and do the same mistakes over and over, I think that's what drives me insane as a player. Individually, that's what drives me insane. Because at the beginning of the season, we all said that week one is going to be week one. September is going to be September. But we got to do our best to be better as the season progresses. And we are in November, and I just don't see us making that jump from September to November. I'm seeing the same thing. So I think a lot of things, we just got to start addressing it and not sugarcoat or beat around the bush. You know, I think that's what we are lacking. And honestly, it's just year to year, it's the same thing."

But he was far from the only person with some tough criticism. Julian Blackmon also had some strong words for his struggling team.

Finally, Zaire Franklin - another team captain - didn't shy away from voicing strong opinions, either. In post-game media interviews, he insinuated that the offense isn't being productive enough, saying that the defense needs to get off the field more often.

He also echoed some more of the concerns raised by Moore, that the team is not putting in enough effort and aren't being prepared well enough.

This spells very bad news for Steichen. If these players, including two team captains, are willing to say this publicly, what is being said behind the scenes?
