The Indianapolis Colts had one of the best offenses in the NFL in 2025, finishing top 10 in points per game with 27.4 (8th) and yards per game with 345.6 (9th). While Indy’s offense has plenty of exciting playmakers, one of those weapons, Jonathan Taylor, is making it clear that offensive lineman Quenton Nelson is the person who gets everything started.
In an exclusive interview with FanSided on behalf of Sleep Number, Taylor was asked what makes the Colts' offensive line work so well and how the group is able to maintain a standard with changing pieces.
The three-time Pro Bowl running back credited the core group of guys on the line, specifically praising Quenton Nelson. Referring to Nelson as a future Hall of Famer, Taylor said he anchors the offensive line and raises the level of the entire group.

Taylor explained that Nelson operates at a level that makes people want to follow him. Considering the quality of player that he is, having a group that matches his energy will result in a strong unit, as Indianapolis has.
"When you have guys like [Quenton Nelson] who anchor your offensive line, the guys that you bring in are going to want to follow. They’re going to want to match that intensity, they’re going to want to match that discipline, and they’re also going to want to play well each and every single snap and keep that standard high."Jonathan Taylor (FanSided)
Nelson has been a dominant force in the NFL since the Colts selected him with the sixth-overall pick in the 2018 Draft. He was First-team All-Pro as a rookie and the two years after that. The guard was also a Second-Team All-Pro in 2021, 2024, and 2025. To go along with his six All-Pro selections, Nelson has been a Pro Bowler all eight years of his NFL career.
That doesn’t just speak to his ability; it speaks to his durability. Nelson has only missed four games in his career, and they all came during the 2021 season, where he still started 13 games. He has been a constant, dominant presence on Indy’s offensive line, and as Taylor said, he has elevated the entire group.
