The Indianapolis Colts' rivalry with the Houston Texans has been heating up in recent years, but after a shocking trade move early in the draft, the Texans may need to step aside for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Jaguars and the Colts already have a less-than-friendly history; the Colts have not won in Jacksonville in over 10 years, and even when the Colts have historically had better teams, the Jaguars have still managed to pull off upsets, defeating Indianapolis more than Houston and the Tennessee Titans. The Colts lead the overall series, but the difficulty the Jaguars consistently give them has definitely caused some bad blood.
And now, there is another reason for Colts fans to be worried. The Jaguars just pulled off an epic last-minute trade, letting them nail one of the NFL Draft's most coveted prospects: two-way star Travis Hunter.

The Jaguars had been rumored to be after a trade with the Cleveland Browns for the #2 pick, and that rumors ended up being true. It was an expensive move for the Jaguars, who had to give up the #5 overall pick, a second-round pick (#36), a fourth-round pick (#126) and their 2026 first-round pick, but it's likely well worth it for Jacksonville. Hunter is a huge threat regardless of which side of the ball he plays. And Hunter has made it clear that playing both sides is something he wants in the NFL - something the Jaguars can accommodate.
QB Trevor Lawrence could use another reliable receiver, and while the Jaguars receiving corps has a handful of good players in Dyami Brown, Brian Thomas Jr., and Parker Washington, there's no one that has really been able to help Lawrence make the explosive, dynamic plays he's capable of making. Hunter can line up anywhere in formation and make plays happen, and considering how much the Colts struggled on defense last season, that could end up being a real nightmare for Indy.
Hunter can also make a big difference at cornerback, subbing in for Tyson Campell, Jarrian Jones, and Jourdan Lewis. This would let him play on both offense and defense, without necessarily wearing him out too much.
Now, this is all obviously great news for Jacksonville, but it makes the Jaguars even more of a pain in the you-know-what for the Colts. The Jaguars are looking to be a real contender in the AFC South, and Travis Hunter can undoubtedly help them get there... and make it all that much harder for the Colts to stop them.
