The Indianapolis Colts will pack their bags to take on the Washington Commanders across the pond. Dan Quinn's team won't have Jayden Daniels on the field, giving the Colts a perfect opportunity to build some momentum and a winning streak.
The Commanders are coming off a shocking upset over the Seattle Seahawks, but their defensive coverage woes make them vulnerable, especially without their young starting quarterback under center.
However, with all eyes set on the usual suspects, Shane Steichen's team might have to lean on some unsung heroes to take care of business in London. Here are the three players who may surprise everyone in Week 4.
3 Indianapolis Colts players who may contribute when no one expects them in Week 4
Laiatu Latu
At this point, a strong game by Laiatu Latu would be somewhat unexpected. He hasn't taken much of a leap this season, and while the Colts' pass rush looked much better in the win over the Houston Texans, it was mostly thanks to the interior of the defensive line.
Despite losing Laremy Tunsil, the Commanders' offensive line has held its own pretty decently this season. That was mostly due to Jayden Daniels' elusiveness, and that hasn't been the case with Mariota at the helm.
The veteran backup has already taken two sacks, and while he can also extend plays with his legs, he's not as twitchy and fast as he used to. Latu has gotten off to a worryingly slow start to the season, but this is the perfect setting to get him going. The breakout year can still happen, and it might start in Week 4.
Laquon Treadwell
Veteran wide receiver Laquon Treadwell is still going strong in the league, probably against all odds. Nevertheless, he's been a non-factor on offense this season, making most of his impact on special teams.
But with Alec Pierce out for a while and the recently signed Darius Slayton unlikely to play a big role out of the gate, Treadwell might shock some people in London. He's played the second-most snaps among Colts wide receivers (123), though he's only run 69 routes.
Thus far, Treadwell has four catches on five targets for 81 yards and no touchdowns. The Commanders have the second-worst pass defense in the game, so there should be plenty of space for Daniel Jones to make plays. Josh Downs, Keenan Allen, and Tyler Warren will draw most of the attention, leaving Treadwell open in three-receiver sets.
Seth McGowan
As much as the Commanders struggle in coverage, they're actually pretty solid against the run. They're holding opposing teams to just 82.0 rushing yards per game, the third-fewest in the league, and they have a stout front seven.
Jonathan Taylor has struggled with efficiency this season, and he might be in for another long day in the office in Week 4. Maybe it's time Steichen gives the stronger, more physical Seth McGowan an opportunity to show what he can do against such a sturdy defense.
Taylor is elite and elusive, but he's not much of a bruiser. McGowan is a human bulldozer who's at his best when running over guys, and he might give this team the aggressiveness and strength they'll need to get those short gains. Taking the ball off Taylor's hands is a tough call, but it might be necessary in certain spots against this defense.
