The Indianapolis Colts have everything on their plate to bounce back this week. Losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers was a tough wake-up call after consecutive wins, but the Tennessee Titans are a major step down in class. (At least, let's be fair, they should be, as Tennessee hasn't beaten any AFC South team in two seasons.)
The Titans also have the worst offense in football, and Robert Saleh hasn't done much to help their case on the other side of the field, either. Divisional games are must-wins, but that won't be enough this time; they must dominate.
Considering that, even some unsung heroes and unusual suspects might step in and have their first big game of the season. While everyone expects the team's stars to show up, these three players can also turn some heads.
3 Indianapolis Colts players who might be surprising contributors in Week 6
Justin Walley
Justin Walley has been a bit of a rollercoaster this season. He struggled mightily in the first two games before bouncing back with the next two wins. He's essentially a rookie, and he just moved to the slot, so some growing pains are to be expected here.
While he'll draw a touch matchup with Wan'Dale Robinson, Cam Ward's struggles to throw with anticipation and make plays between the numbers should help Walley stay on top of every pass, maybe even picking up his first career interception.
Bryce Boettcher
Bryce Boettcher looked unprepared and out of sync in the loss to the Steelers. A whiffed tackle that will haunt him for years allowed Jaylen Warren to break loose for an 80-yard score, and he didn't make a single impactful play afterward.
That said, Jaylon Carlies might have to miss another game with an injury, and even if he plays, he might be limited. Nothing like facing the worst offense in the NFL to get your career going, and he should be extremely motivated to deliver.
Caden Curry
Cden Curry has shown glimpses of strong play in limited snaps, and with the Colts' struggling pass-rushing unit also dealing with injuries, maybe defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo will give the rookie an extended run in this one.
Curry has eight total tackles (four solo) in 106 defensive snaps. Arden Key is on Injured Reserve, Jaylahn Tuimoloau is listed as questionable and hasn't done much, and someone will have to hold down the fort with Laiatu Latu.
