Colts place Trevor Denbow on injured reserve, elevate Ronnie Harrison
The Indianapolis Colts have made several roster changes following an injury during their loss to the Houston Texans.
Safety Trevor Denbow was injured during the opening drive with a knee injury. Though Denbow is a safety, he is known for his prowess on special teams. Over his 27 games with the Colts since 2022, he has made 13 tackles. During the 2024 season, he has participated in 65% of the team's special teams snaps.
The Colts have announced that Denbow has been placed on the injured reserve; while details of the extent of his injury aren't yet known, it presumably is substantial enough to sideline him for several weeks.
In his place, the Colts have elevated Ronnie Harrison, Jr. from the practice squad. Harrison was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL Draft in 2018, and originally was named the backup starter until Week 14, when he was named the starting safety. However, he suffered a season-ending knee injury the very next week. He was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2020, and signed with the Colts in August of 2023. During the 2023 season, he had one interception, which he returned for a touchdown. In 2024, he was released by the Colts, and then resigned to the practice squad in August.
