You know things are bad when a team trades multiple All-Pro-caliber players before Week 8. That's, unfortunately, where things stand now with the 2026 Indianapolis Colts, one of the most disappointing teams in the league this season.

Shane Steichen and company are on their last leg in Indianapolis. Even if they finish the season, there's no chance they will return for another year after Chris Ballard's dismissal and their underwhelming performance.

That means some of their guys will also pack their bags and leave in free agency, though that's not necessarily a bad thing. Considering that, let's take a look at the team's free-agent picture with half of the regular season in the rearview mirror.

Checking in on some Indianapolis Colts free agents after eight weeks

Akeem Davis-Gaither won't be back

The Colts gave Lou Anarumo the pieces he asked for to fix the defense, and the results just haven't been there. Akeem Davis-Gaither is his green-dot guy, so one can only assume he'll leave as soon as they fire the defensive coordinator, and he won't be missed.

Davis-Gaither isn't a bad player, but he's not particularly good at anything, either, and that's not what you want from your defensive quarterback. At least the Colts will finally give CJ Allen opportunities to handle business in the middle of the second level.

Cam Taylor-Britt will leave with Lou Anarumo

Likewise, Anarumo's inevitable departure will also mean that Cam Taylor-Britt will have to find himself a realtor. Fortunately, he hasn't had to play much, given the Colts' strong starting cornerback tandem, but he hasn't been good when given an opportunity.

The Colts have used him in obvious run-play situations nearly half the time, not only because that's what he does best but also because he's not good in coverage. It'll be hard to think many teams will line up with offers.

Keenan Allen is playing his final games in the NFL

Keenan Allen's arrival did little to help the Colts' ailing offense. Of course, it's hard to blame him at this point in his career, and while he hasn't been a difference-maker, he's at least led the team in production in recent years.

Allen had to wait a long time to find a new deal after the Los Angeles Chargers didn't give him a new contract early in the offseason. Barring a surprise, his next contract will be a one-day deal to retire with them.

At least Spencer Shrader should be back next season

The mere fact that the team's kicker makes the list of the top free agents should tell you everything there is to know about how things have gone this season. But yeah, that's how rock bottom this team has hit thus far.

Spencer Shrader won the team's kicking battle with an impressive training camp and preseason. He's had an up-and-down couple of weeks, but again, it's hard to blame any single player for what may have gone wrong. He's a star, and he should be back.
