The Indianapolis Colts haven't lived up to expectations this season, and barring a shocking turn of events, they won't win many more games, especially if they continue to stick with Daniel Jones at quarterback.
The Colts have already moved on from some of their best players, and everyone else should be up for grabs as well. That should say everything there is to know about this team a week before the trade deadline.
The loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars dropped them to 2-6 and a new low. At this point, the only silver lining is that they're not the worst team in the division, at least record-wise. With that in mind, let's take a look at the AFC South
AFC South power rankings: Indianapolis Colts can't move up in a hopeless division
4. Tennessee Titans (1-7)
As crazy as it may sound, the Tennessee Titans might be better than the Colts right now. Not only did they beat them, but they nearly took down the Cleveland Browns two weeks ago, and they took Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals to overtime.
Cam Ward and company are trending in the right direction, and trading Jeffery Simmons gave them elite draft capital to rebuild. For now, however, they still have the second-worst record in the league and the worst in the division.
3. Indianapolis Colts (2-6)
The Indianapolis Colts are a mess right now. Some of the players are still fighting hard, but others, like Josh Downs, have already checked out. More worryingly, it feels like the coaching staff has also given up on the players.
At least, the remainder of the season should help them evaluate where they're at with guys like CJ Allen, Bryce Boettcher, and Jalen Farmer. Other than that, it's hard to find much positive to say about the 2026 Colts.
The team doesn't have a first-round pick or a trade asset valuable enough to get one, and they clearly still don't have a franchise quarterback. The rest of the regular season will be a long and winding road for this team.
2. Houston Texans (2-5)
The Houston Texans have been one of the most disappointing teams in the league, but unlike most underperforming teams, people still believe in them because of how much talent they have on both sides of the field.
Talent alone won't get the job done, and DeMeco Ryans' defense is wasting a strong season from C.J. Stroud. At one point, they will have to face the facts and realize that they won't be a playoff-caliber team this season.
1. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-2)
The Jacksonville Jaguars are the only real team in the AFC South this season, and they proved it again with their blowout win over the Colts. Things could've gotten much uglier if they hadn't taken their foot off the gas.
Trevor Lawrence and Liam Coen make a great pairing, and Travis Hunter is coming together pretty well. Even with Brian Thomas Jr. looking like a bust and a shaky offensive line, this team might make a deep postseason run.
