The Indianapolis Colts' 2025 regular season turned into one that many fans would like to forget. A 7-1 start led to an 8-9 finish as the team once again missed the playoffs. Still, there were some positives to take away from what happened. One was the play of rookie tight end Tyler Warren.

Warren, in fact, was rewarded for his stellar season with an invite to the Pro Bowl Games, meaning he will be a Pro Bowler in his first year. He will take the place of Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, who is withdrawing from the exhibition citing an injury.

Warren's presence will mean three Colts players will participate in the Pro Bowl Games. The others are running back Jonathan Taylor and left guard Quenton Nelson. Warren also becomes the second Colt rookie tight end to make the Pro Bowl after John Mackey did so in 1963.

While the second half of the season wasn't quite as good for Tyler Warren, which sadly matched the rest of his team's production, that likely wasn't his fault. Opposing defenses adjusted to what he could do, but the tight end was also affected by quarterback Daniel Jones getting hurt.

Once Philip Rivers took over at quarterback, the Indianapolis offense became far more limited and less explosive, and Warren was not targeted as much down the field. The good part is that 2026 should be better for the tight end as he will play with a quarterback (really, any other quarterback besides Rivers) who can get the ball down the field better.

After averaging 10.5 yards a catch or more in nine of his first ten games, Warren averaged nine yards a reception or less in seven of his last eight games.

Still, overall, he was a definite positive for the Indianapolis Colts and likely a star for the team for many years to come. He finished second on the team in targets (112), catches (76), and receiving yards (817). He also had five total touchdowns (four receptions and one rushing).

Tyler Warren finished tight for sixth among all NFL tight ends and fifth in receiving yards. These numbers will probably only improve in future seasons.

The Indianapolis Colts were right to take Warren in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, and, assuming he stays healthy, he will remain an integral part of the offense for the foreseeable future. Fans can likely expect many more Pro Bowls in the tight end's future.
