Colts could soon have more reason to worry about AFC South race

This is not fun to think about.

To the surprise of pretty much everyone, the Indianapolis Colts have roared out to 4-1 start. Joining them in the 4-1 party is, unfortunately, the Jacksonville Jaguars, who we might have to admit are for real after their hot start.

Both of these teams could very well end up winning the AFC South and a good indicator as to who ultimately does could be how things go down before the trade deadline. The Jags just lost Brenton Strange to IR, meaning he's out for at least four weeks. With little depth behind him, that could lead to Jacksonville trading for some tight end help.

One tight end that could make sense for the Jaguars is Mark Andrews. Sayre Bedinger of NFL Spin Zone includedJacksonville on a list of landing spots that would make sense for Andrews and, sadly, he has a point. Andrews is 30 years old, in the final year of his contract, and the Ravens look to be going nowhere this season.

Colts fans would hate to see the Jags trade for Mark Andrews

Obviously Colts fans don't want to see anything good happen to the Jaguars and trading for Andrews would undoubtedly be a good thing. Andrews might be 30 but he's still playing at a high level. If the Ravens were in a better spot, he probably wouldn't be a trade candidate even with him hitting free agency at the end of the season.

If this trade ended up happening, the Jaguars would not only have Andrews but Strange would return to them at some point too, giving Trevor Lawrence two excellent options at tight end. No Colts fan wants to see a competent Jags offense.

Hopefully, the Ravens either climb out of their 1-4 hole and opt not to trade Andrews or if they do trade him, it's to someone the Colts don't have to deal with as often. The once pitiful AFC South looks pretty tough this year and the Colts are going to need all of the help they can get to win their first division title since 2014. That'll be trickier to do if the Jaguars add a key player like Mark Andrews.
