On Friday, NFL Films will look at the life and career of Indianapolis Colts legend, Edgerrin James in an ‘A Football Life’ episode.

Edgerrin James is one of the best players in Indianapolis Colts’ history and in the history of the NFL. On Friday, his life and career will get special attention in an episode of ‘A Football Life’. The NFL Films’ production will air on NFL Network, Friday, November 18 at 9 p.m. ET. The special won’t only look at his Hall of Fame NFL career but it’ll cover his life dating back to his time as a child in Immokalee, Florida.

In addition to James himself talking about his story, the program will have several guests who were a part of James’ journey. Some of the names that have been revealed are Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Jim Irsay, and Trick Daddy, making sure to bring Miami to the party, the city where James played college football at The U.

Edgerrin James was drafted by the Colts in 1999 with the fourth-overall pick. Indianapolis had just sent Pro Bowl running back, Marshall Faulk, to the Rams, and Indy also selected James over Ricky Williams, the most recent Heisman Trophy winner at the time, so Edgerrin James had high expectations to meet and big shoes to fill. He did just that.

In his first season with the Colts, he led the league in rushing yards with 1,553 and also added 13 touchdowns on the ground. He also contributed as a reviver out of the backfield, catching 62 passes for 586 yards and four touchdowns. The breakout performance in his first season earned him Offensive Rookie of the Year and selections to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro team. However, that was just the start of a legendary career.

James played 11 years in the NFL and seven of them were with the Colts. He ended his career with 12,246 rushing yards and 80 touchdowns, and an additional 433 receptions for 3,364 and 11 more touchdowns. He was a four-time Pro Bowler, a three-time All-Pro player, two-time rushing yards leader and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020.
