The Indianapolis Colts enter Week 5 at a disappointing 1-2-1 and they are losing respect from experts in the latest round of power rankings.

Not many would’ve guessed that the Indianapolis Colts would be 1-2-1 after four weeks of the NFL season. However, that’s the reality that Indy is facing and things aren’t necessarily going to get easier. Indianapolis is challenged with a short week as it has to take on a motivated Denver Broncos team that is also looking to get right.

With two division losses already, and a division tie, the Colts will quickly start losing ground if they don’t turn things around fast. If there’s a silver lining, it’s that the majority of Indy’s problems are things within the team’s control, so they can be corrected. However, that didn’t help Indianapolis at all in the latest round of power rankings.

Where the Colts rank across expert Power Rankings entering Week 5

Last week, Indianapolis was starting to get its respect back from experts. Indy was able to upset the Kansas City Chiefs, and as a result, the Colts entered Week 4 with an average power ranking of 20.5. However, after losing Sunday’s game to the Tennessee Titans, Indy will enter Week 5 with an average power ranking of 24.5.

ESPN dropped the Colts from No. 20 to No. 26. Stephen Holder argued that while the defense has been playing well they must get back to forcing turnovers like they did last season.

The NFL’s official site ranked Indy at No. 28. That’s five spots down from last week. Dan Hanzus made the case that Indianapolis isn’t doing anything well right now since even the elite run defense struggled on Sunday.

CBS Sports had the Colts ranked No. 17 last week but now they’re down to No. 19. Pete Prisco expressed how concerning the Jonathan Taylor ankle situation is for a team that’s already struggling.

FanSided dropped Indianapolis three spots down to No. 25 and Matt Verderame highlighted how lucky Indy is to be in a struggling conference like the AFC South, giving them time to figure things out.

Colts’ Super Bowl odds entering Week 5

Indianapolis entered the season with Super Bowl aspirations but those hopes may not be so high right now. Regardless, that remains the goal for Indy. Entering Week 5, the Colts have +5000 odds to win the Super Bowl according to FanDuel. That’s tied for the 16th-best odds in the league.

Last week, Indy had the 14th-best odds at +4000. The team is moving in the wrong direction. Indianapolis will try and turn things around on Thursday Night Football against the Denver Broncos.
