The offense for the Indianapolis Colts continues to concern fans after an underwhelming first half against the Houston Texans in Week 1.

All offseason, fans and members of the media have been concerned about the offense for the Indianapolis Colts. The team brought in veteran quarterback, Matt Ryan, and drafted wide receiver, Alec Pierce. However, they still struggled at times in camp and in the preseason. But, Frank Reich assured everyone that the regular season would be different once they bring out the real offense.

Unfortunately, that real offense still hasn’t shown up. It is just one half into a 17-game season, but fans are not necessarily pleased with Indy’s first offensive outing. Indianapolis ultimately went into halftime with the Texans leading 10-3, but it was the missed opportunities for Indy that stole the show.

Indy started the game with a three-and-out, and then followed that series up with a 12-play, 47-yard drive where the Colts settled for a field goal. Then, Indianapolis drove down into the red zone and Alec Pierce dropped a would-be touchdown and Nyheim Hines was stuffed on a wildcat fourth-and-goal play from the two-yard line.

If things couldn’t get worse than that, Matt Ryan threw an interception on the next series trying to complete a screen pass to Jonathan Taylor.

Colts need to figure the offense out fast

Luckily for Indianapolis, the defense has been able to keep the team in the game. Without Shaquille Leonard, the Colts haven’t allowed the Texans to have an offensive explosion, so it’s still a game.  Now, it’s on the offense to get things together in the second half.

Ultimately, this will all be forgotten if Indianapolis pulls out a win and goes on to have a successful season. But, if the Colts have another Week 1 loss to the Texans, there will be a lot of panic.
