The Indianapolis Colts are a talented team with high expectations this season and the Madden NFL 23 video game believes they will deliver.
With training camp and the preseason almost over, teams are preparing for the start of the regular season. That means it’s time for all the offseason moves and plans to be put into motion and teams must see if they can meet the expectations that have been set for them.
One team with a lot of expectations for the 2022 NFL season is the Indianapolis Colts. After an embarrassing loss that kept them out of the postseason, the Colts have made several moves this offseason to reach contender status. If they can put everything together during the season, Indianapolis can win the AFC South and make a run for a Super Bowl. Will they actually be that good though?
The Madden video game thinks so. With Madden NFL 23 officially released, fans have already begun playing the video game and getting a look at their favorite squads. One of the fun features of the game is simulations. That’s when you allow the computer to generate all the various outcomes and show how it thinks things will unfold throughout the season.
Recently, Yahoo Sports simulated the upcoming season on the newest version of Madden NFL 23, and the game thinks really highly of the Colts. The simulation had Indianapolis finishing the regular season with a 16-1 record and ultimately losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship. While the goal is always a Super Bowl, it would be incredible if Indy could have the kind of season that Madden is predicting.
Madden NFL 23 predicts a 16-1 season for the Colts
The simulation saw Frank Reich winning coach of the year for leading Indianapolis to this record and also Matt Ryan having a very big season with 4,492 passing yards and 41 touchdowns. However, after such a great season, and falling short in the AFC Championship, the simulation thinks that Ryan will walk away from football.
While Matt Ryan has made clear that he has no plans to retire soon, a move like that would force the Colts to find a new starting quarterback for the sixth consecutive year. Hopefully, that doesn’t happen, but let’s hope the Colts can have the kind of dominant season that Madden NFL 23 thinks they are capable of.
Obviously, this is just a video game simulation, so it should be taken with a grain of salt; if that. Especially since this same simulation has the New York Jets winning the AFC East with an 11-6 record.
