What would an alternate uniform look like for Colts?
Several NFL teams have unveiled alternate uniforms for the 2022 season. What would it look like if the Indianapolis Colts joined the trend?
Last offseason, the NFL got rid of its one-helmet rule. This led to teams bringing back vintage uniforms and unveiling some alternate looks. That has kicked up a notch entering the 2022 NFL season, as over 10 teams have announced plans to wear some sort of throwback or alternate helmet and jersey. This has led many fans to hope the Indianapolis Colts can get in on the fun.
Last season, Indianapolis did wear a 1956 throwback uniform for one Week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and there are also the 1955 throwbacks that Indy wore back in 2010. However, fans are hoping for some sort of consistent alternate, and maybe something outside the traditional blue and white color scheme.
Could the Colts introduce a blue helmet? What about a gray or black jersey that is occasionally worn? With the creativity of the internet, fans have plenty of looks they would love to see Indy hit the field in.
The Colts should add another uniform
The tweet above shows both throwback jerseys that Indianapolis has actually worn in games and an all-black alternate uniform that is just a concept. A concept uniform that was endorsed by Kenny Moore two years ago. The Colts unveiling an all-black alternate will properly generate the most excitement amongst fans.
In reality, if there is a uniform addition coming to Indy, it most likely will be a blue helmet, which would also be pretty cool to see. Currently, the Colts haven’t announced any plans for a different look this season but with two months until the regular season, there’s still a chance that there could be a surprise announcement for fans.
If not, Colts nation will still be excited to watch Indianapolis play in its traditional uniforms, obviously. After all, winning games makes everything look good.
