Indianapolis Colts running back, Jonathan Taylor, recently broke down some of the best runs of his career.

This past season, Indianapolis Colts running back, Jonathan Taylor established himself as the best running back in the NFL. This title came with a lot of records, accolades, and notoriety.

Taylor was the league’s leading rusher with 1,811 yards and also had the most rushing touchdowns with 18. Those stats merited Taylor the first Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections of his young career.

Taylor was also a frequent contributor to the Angry Run segment on “Good Morning Football.” The segment is as simple as it sounds, it highlighted the players every week that ran angry.

Taylor recently joined the host of “Good Morning Football” to walk everyone through the mindset he carries during his angriest runs.

Jonathan Taylor wants to be most physical player on field

Jonathan Taylor has tremendous speed and agility but that doesn’t stop him from wanting to impose his will on defenders for four quarters.

When describing his Angry Runs, Taylor said, “Whatever it takes…Can I be the most physical player on the field that play and have them endure that for four quarters.”

This past season, defenders did not do a good job of handling the punishment that Taylor was dishing out. He and the Colts frequently had their way on the ground.

One stat that captures how physical Taylor is running the ball is his yards after contact. In 2021, Taylor ran for 1,272 yards after contact, that’s more than any other running back’s total rushing yards.

Taylor went for over 100 yards 10 times last season and in those games, Indianapolis was 9-1. Also, it’s only his second season in the NFL.

That may be unfortunate for the defenses in the NFL but it is great for Indianapolis. Taylor is only getting better. He will continue to get stronger and make the game even more painful for opposing defenders.

As the Colts continue to build an offense around him, Taylor will only become more difficult to stop. Considering the way Indianapolis’ season ended, opposing teams should prepare for even angrier runs from Jonathan Taylor.
