The Indianapolis Colts will need increased contributions from players for the team to make the playoffs.

When the Indianapolis Colts return from their Week 14 bye, they will be just outside the playoffs at 7-6. They’ll have a good chance at getting into the postseason if they can win their remaining games, but that will be a challenge.

Indianapolis has one of the toughest remaining schedules and will play the current top seed in each conference in the first two games back from the break.

The Colts have shown they can compete with anyone, but they’ve consistently fallen short against some of the best teams in the league. Something that may get them over the hump is giving a few players more playing time.

Indy has received great contributions from several players all season, but some have shown great potential in flashes. If these players get a little more opportunity, they may be able to greatly impact the team. Here are 3 players whose snap counts should increase down the stretch.

Colts should give DB Isaiah Rodgers more snaps

Isaiah Rodgers, who is a defensive back by nature, is most often seen returning kicks. He’s had a ton of snaps this season on defense, but Indianapolis will benefit from giving him even more.

Rodgers is a backup corner and often enters the game as an extra defensive back in passing situations. On the year, he has only played about 41% of Indy’s defensive snaps but Rodgers has been one of the Colts’ highest-graded corners.

With the secondary struggles Indy has had this year, it makes sense to get Rodgers on the field more often if he is already excelling in his limited snaps.

Additionally, Indianapolis will play pass-heavy teams like the Cardinals and Raiders in the coming weeks, so having another competent corner on the field will serve the team well.
