Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines was captured meeting one of the players he watched growing up.
Sometimes when watching the NFL, fans have a hard time relating to the players who are demonstrating athletic abilities that only a small amount of people have. Other times, the players give moments that remind everyone they’re just like us.
That was the case with Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines this week. Usually, fans see Hines catching a ball out of the backfield, evading defenders, and landing a perfect full twist backflip after scoring a touchdown. But his latest viral moment allowed fans to look at the screen and say, “He’s just like me.”
Indianapolis decided to mic up Hines for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and that’s where this special moment was captured. During pre-game warmups, Hines noticed Jaguars receiver Tavon Austin and became a total fanboy.
After telling his teammates about how much he watched Austin’s highlights from his West Virginia days, Hines made his way across the field and officially met Austin.

Colts Nyheim Hines is a huge fan of Tavon Austin
“I almost fainted”, Hines said after the encounter with Austin where he told him that he was a G.O.A.T and that he watched his highlights daily.
Austin, who is five years older than Hines, is a bit of a football legend. While his NFL career hasn’t been the most fruitful, his electric ball-carrying abilities displayed on his high school and college highlight tapes will live forever.
This special moment not only saw Austin getting his flowers, but he even gave some advice to Hines. In the Hard Knocks: In Season capturing of the moment, Austin can be heard telling Hines, “Protect the ball, bro. Keep your arms tight, baby.”
For Hines, who swore he wanted to be Austin until he was 21, this moment probably meant the world. A special moment that reminds us everybody is a huge fan of someone.
Fans can follow the Colts on their weekly Hard Knocks: In Season episodes to see more personal moments like this.
