3. Colts WRs vs. Titans secondary

Tennessee’s secondary had perhaps its best game of the year last week against Kansas City. A lot of things had to go in the Titans’ favor in order to keep the Chiefs from even scoring a touchdown. Indianapolis’ wide receiver corps will be a far tougher challenge for Tennessee, especially if T.Y. Hilton is eligible to play.

If Tennessee had to pick one facet of the game that still needs improvement, it would be its defense. Not just the defense, but the secondary specifically. The Titans’ defense sits toward the bottom of the NFL, allowing an average of 24.6 completions and 273.6 passing yards per game. Patrick Mahomes managed to not throw a touchdown in Week 7 against Tennessee, but they’re about to face a quarterback who heavily relies on his arm strength.

Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. caught four passes for 105 yards and a touchdown last week. Hilton only has four catches for 80 yards in one game, but he’s lethal if he’s healthy. His speed will play to his advantage when he matches up against Tennessee’s secondary, which is necessary with Wentz’s skillset.

Titans cornerback Caleb Farley suffered a torn ACL against the Buffalo Bills and is out for the remainder of the season, so their secondary is battered. However, Indianapolis has been hit with its fair share of injuries to its receivers, too, with Parris Campbell out nursing a foot injury following his breakout. Even without the Buckeye, the Colts wide receiver corps should still be able to run the field. If things go according to plan, Tennessee’s secondary should be completely burnt at the end of Sunday’s game.
