The Indianapolis Colts had a packed Lucas Oil Stadium for Sunday’s season opener against the Seahawks and it was a much-needed return to normalcy after the struggles endured due to the pandemic.

Indy only permitted 2,500 fans inside Lucas Oil Stadium in Week 1 last season before ultimately capping out at roughly 14,450 later in the year.

This year’s a different story, as Lucas Oil will operate at full capacity.

It also gives Colts players a chance to interact with fans during pregame warmups, and Zach Pascal took advantage of this opportunity by playing catch with fans in the crowd about an hour before kickoff. What better way to calm your nerves before the season opener?

Colts WR Zach Pascal was playing catch with fans before Week 1.

This is the content you love to see. It’s clear Pascal missed the fans just as much as they missed heading to games on football Sundays.

The Colts receiver wasn’t just playing catch with fans who splurged on expensive front-row seats, either. Pascal actually uncorked a throw into what looked like the second deck near the end of the video.

Have the Colts found their emergency quarterback?

In all seriousness, Pascal is already a favorite among Colts fans, who recognize him as an invaluable piece to the offense. Suffice it to say this awesome gesture only strengthened his standing with his supporters.

With TY Hilton out for the first few games, Pascal has a great chance to get off to a hot start and piggyback off a career year in 2020, when he hauled in 44 catches for 629 yards and five touchdowns on an impressive 8.9 yards per target.

Now, he has more offensive weapons around him and a quarterback who can move out of the pocket and make plays on the run. That’s sure going to help open the field for his playmaking abilities. Speaking of those, however, maybe offensive coordinator Marcus Brady runs an end-around pass so Pascal can unleash his arm strength at some point this year? Why not?!
