The Colts have dropped their 53-man roster, and it’s officially the NFL season. Wow, that happened quick.

The Philip Rivers-led Indianapolis Colts are ready to take on all comers in the AFC South in 2020, Jadeveon Clowney additions be damned.

And after an enthusiastic camp highlighted by Jonathan Taylor open-field dominance, Marlon Mack appreciation, and DeForest Buckner gushing, Frank Reich officially unleashed his full 53-man core to the world on Saturday.

Indy, these are your guys. Announcing the first edition of the 2020 Colts roster!

First off — yes, Rodrigo Blankenship is your guy for pressure kicks. We assume Adam Vinatieri gave his blessing to the bespectacled one, and it’s now official.

In terms of surprise cuts on the Colts roster? Well, you won’t find many. Chad Kelly, the fourth-string QB who didn’t make much sense for Indy in the first place (but believed himself to be the fastest QB alive?), found himself looking for work. Other than that, several injury recoveries led to some shored-up units in Indy.

The Colts went with six wideouts and three tight ends, with Ashton Dulin and Dezmon Patmon (sixth round out of Wazzu) snagging the final two wide receiver spots. Even though Trey Burton is still injured and will miss the first few weeks of the regular season at the very least, Reich decided Jack Doyle and Mo-Alie Cox were enough insurance.

Indy went with an impressively deep RB crew, too, maintaining Jordan Wilkins behind the three-headed monster of Marlon Mack, Nyheim Hines, and Jonathan Taylor. Right guard Mark Glowinski, pegged as a potential “surprise cut” alongside Wilkins, also survived the final round.

The defensive line around Buckner remains stacked, the linebacking corps goes seven strong (Indy didn’t cut anyone), and after Julian Blackmon’s return, the safety group is now fortified, too, with Malik Hooker getting one more shot to earn his money.

This is the best Colts roster in several years, complete at every position with experienced and hungry competitors. And now it’s officially official. So what are you most confident about, Indy?!
