Round 2, Pick 44:

1. Donovan Peoples-Jones, Michigan

2. Brandon Aiyuk, Arizona State

If the Indianapolis Colts somehow pass on a wide receiver with their first two selections in the 2020 NFL Draft, this pick is where they would seriously need to consider one. One quick reminder is that anyone from previous slides on the board would slot in to the top spot here, but here we are placing value grades on the players.

First up at this pick is Michigan’s Donovan Peoples-Jones. His production was never there at Michigan, in part because of quarterback play along with the offensive approach. Peoples-Jones primarily worked out of the slot for the Wolverines, and he shows enough to work to all levels of the defense as a route runner. He also has a great catch radius and can win at the catch point.

Next here at pick 44 is Arizona State’s Brandon Aiyuk. Aiyuk caught fire in his final season with the Sun Devils after N’Keal Harry declared for the 2019 draft, going over the 1,000 yard mark. He’s got the speed to challenge defenses and bring attention his way, along with an ability to turn an eight yard slant into a 70 yard touchdown. His ability to beat press needs work, but he’s got plenty of potential.
