Round 1, Pick 13:

1. Jerry Jeudy, Alabama

2. CeeDee Lamb, Oklahoma

3. Henry Ruggs III, Alabama

The Indianapolis Colts are definitely in play for one of the top receivers, especially with the quarterback and offensive tackle needs above them.

Jerry Jeudy is the best fit and best player of the top three. His ability to get off press coverage at the line of scrimmage with elite quickness and a great release is matched by no one in the class. Once he’s into his stem, he can win with an expanded route tree, crisp routes, and very good eye manipulation. His ability to explode off of cuts and change direction is seamless, and he has the speed and lateral quickness to wreak havoc after the catch. Imagining Jeudy with Hilton on the Colts is an awesome thing.

If the Colts want to go for a foil of Hilton, they could go with CeeDee Lamb. Lamb is dangerous after the catch with his second gear and his toughness. His ability to fight off tacklers at his size was impressive during his 2019 campaign. Lamb also has great body control and adjusts to the football well.

Last, but not least, is Henry Ruggs. Ruggs compares to Parris Campbell with his speed, and he’s expected to run in the 4.2s come testing. However, he’s more than that. Ruggs is a nuanced route runner and uses his speed well to create separation, and is obviously a big time threat after the catch.
