Colts 2020 Mock Draft 3.0: Quarterback, wide receiver addressed early
The Colts still need more talent on the edge on their defensive line, despite drafting edge guys in the last two years. Kemoko Turay has been effective when healthy, and Ben Banogu did show flashes at times last season, but there needs to be more help in this area. Signing a big free agent would be great, but it isn’t Chris Ballard’s style.
Bradlee Anae is a steal here in the third round for Indianapolis. Anae brings so much to the table as a pass rusher. While he isn’t the most athletic player on the edge, his technical skills were on display week after week during the 2019 season. Anae has extremely active hands, and wins with great hand placement to keep tackles off balance. His array of moves is impressive, from hand swipes around the edge to club/rips and club/swims. His 13 sacks led the Pac 12 by a wide margin, and teams couldn’t find an answer for him. Anae also had an amazing Senior Bowl, dominating in the 1-on-1s and during the game, where it felt like he was in the backfield every play.
Colts fans, just imagine a defensive line with Anae, Javon Kinlaw, and someone like Yannick Ngakoue in free agency.
