The 2020 NFL Draft features a very deep wide receiver, so finding impact players on day two won’t be a problem. Colts head coach Frank Reich employs a lot of the quick passing game in his offense, which requires receivers to gain separation quickly. A perfect candidate for this offense is Penn State’s K.J. Hamler.

Hamler is a wicked good route runner, possessing the nuance and quickness to win immediately off the snap. His best position is in the slot where he can work a two-way go. Hamler is also dangerous after the catch, with top end speed and agility to make defenders miss in open space. He’d been an excellent addition early in round two.

Quarterback is a big time need, especially with how Jacoby Brissett played in 2019. He may get the chance to prove himself in 2020, but it’s time to look to the future. It’s important to find you guy and go get him at the quarterback position, and Indy can’t wait any longer as they select Jake Fromm in this spot.

Fromm doesn’t possess the high upside tools that Justin Herbert, Jordan Love, or Jacob Eason do. His arm isn’t the strongest and he struggles with accuracy down the field. However, Fromm has the best processing ability in the class, and his advanced football IQ make him perfect for Frank Reich’s offense. He has the quick trigger and decision making to make plays and the short and intermediate levels of the field, and takes what the defense gives him.
